Ask not for whom the school bell rings, at least not until you enjoy the last official weekend of summer vacation in McKinney, Texas. Whether first grader or seasoned alumni, there is something fun for you to do before it is time to hit the books again.

nursery-718788_1280Have Fun With The KidsSaturday, August 22, from 9 a.m. to noon, enjoy a Back-To-School Community Event featuring multiple food trucks, tethered hot air balloon rides, a motorcycle club, a vintage car display and much, much more.This event, hosted by First Baptist Church , will take place in the church parking lot, located at 1615 W. Louisiana St.

Take In A Family ConcertSaturday, August 22, 6 p.m. The Back-To-School celebrations continues atdavidphelps-wawradio First Baptist when they cap off the day with David Phelps in concert. The show begins at 6 p.m. in the church’s Worship Center. Click here for ticket information.

HINT: Make it in time to enjoy musical entertainment beginning at 6:30 p.m. Word on the street is, you never know who might sneak in to honor guests with a set, and, if time allows, even Chef might sit in for a song or two. Just know this: your cool factor will soar and your date will be thrilled if you heed my advise and get there in time for the show!

The restaurant will be serving up small bites to savor, accompanied by delicious wines, champagne, and beer to sip. The evening will feature the beautiful sounds of Lynne Cadena, as well as door prizes and special gift bags for LynneCadena-e1377565648861-300x166each guest. Proceeds from this fun event will help build the Community Garden Kitchen to provide fresh meals to neighbors in need. There are a limited number of tickets left, click here to grab yours now.
